2015 WE BIKE, etc. Bicycle Adventures Announced
We will be at it again this year with two exciting trips. Plans are to Blog and Facebook just like on our last trip. Hopefully you will follow us again – it was great having you along!!
Solo tandem bicyclists, Peter and Tracy Flucke of WE BIKE, etc., LLC, plan to continue their bicycle adventures in 2015. After successfully bicycling 4,362.5 miles across the country in 2014 (WE BIKE Across America Blog) the couple is excited to announce their next adventures.
For their first trip, June 22 – July 1, the Fluckes are partnering with the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway. “The ride will be approximately 600 miles round trip from Green Bay, Wisconsin to Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin and will highlight the Parkway’s history, places of interest and partners, as well as “pioneering” a land based route” said Peter Flucke.
The Fox–Wisconsin Heritage Parkway, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, works with communities along the Fox and Lower Wisconsin rivers to celebrate and preserve our rich and varied river heritage while promoting vibrant and connected riverfront towns and villages.
The Parkway follows the Lower Wisconsin, Upper Fox and Lower Fox rivers, 280 miles across the State of Wisconsin from the Mississippi to the Portage to the bay of Green Bay. “Most work to date has been focused on creating a water trail for kayaking and canoeing. We are thrilled to partner with WE BIKE to begin looking at the biking trail piece of our mission. At the end of their ride, we will have a rough route mapped and some ideas on how accommodating the communities and sites along the river are toward bikers. Very exciting!” said Candice Mortara President of the Fox-Wisconsin Heritage Parkway.
WE BIKE etc., LLC is a consulting firm specializing in the areas of engineering, education, enforcement and encouragement for walking, bicycling and healthy communities. Founded in 1993, WE BIKE conducts business nationally.
Their bicycle trips are a way to spark a sense of adventure, raise awareness, promote fitness (financial and physical), entertain and motivate.
A second trip, to begin in early fall, will travel along the Mississippi River (3,500 miles – Green Bay, Wisconsin to International Falls, Minnesota/Canadian border to Itasca State Park then down the river to New Orleans, Louisiana and the Gulf of Mexico). This trip will allow the Fluckes to explore the natural beauty of the Mississippi River and cross paths with the Fox- Wisconsin Heritage Parkway.
